Introduction

Many amateur astronomers, at some point, want to take their hobby further
than hearing talks, reading books and occasionally visiting the observatory.

Several of our members undertake programmes of observation and usually
photograph objects from a telescope. Recent huge advances in digital
photography make it possible to get quite stunning images using modest
equipment. To the left is only a small sample of the images our members have
taken with Solent Amateur Astronomy Society’s equipment or their own.
